• Tide In Position To Have Good Finish • 'BamaMag
It is gratifying that Alabama remains second in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) standings, but it really isn't critical that the Tide is second rather than third. With apologies to coaches everywhere, it may not matter where you are until the end of the season, but you can't get to where you want to be unless you are in position. Bama is in position, which means in one of the top three spots.

• Crimson Tide remains No. 2 in latest BCS • Crimson Confidential
Alabama's impressive win over Mississippi State didn't affect the Crimson Tide's spot in the BCS standings, but it did keep Alabama on course for a spot in Pasadena come Jan. 7.

• Thoughts from Starkville • Bama Sports Report
It's much easier to write a column after a close win, because there are defining moments and turning points that can be discussed. After a blow-out win, that type of thing just comes across as sunshine pumping. And that's not something that we necessarily want to be associated with.
